Funeral services were held Saturday morning for Dr. Raymond J. Bozzo, M. D., a prominent Washington physician. Dr. Bozzo, age 60, died Thursday at his home from complications resulting from a June 24 heart attack. He had been a patient in St. Francis Mercy Hospital for nearly a month and returned to his home on July 22.

Dr. Ray Bozzo established his plus 30 years general practice of medicine at Washington shortly after completing military duty. He was a firm supporter of St. Francis Mercy Hosptial, and he and his wife, Ruth, made the first major contribution by a member of the medical staff to the building fund for the new hospital. Dr. Bozzo was serving as chief of obstetrics and gynecology and he was a former chief of staff. Mr. Bozzo is a member of the hospital's advisory board.

Dr. Bozzo's pre-medical school studies were at Providence College, Providence, RI, where he received a BS degree in 1939. He received his MD degree in 1943 from the St. Louis University School of Medicine; serving his internship with the St. Mary's Hospital Group of St. Louis University. He served in the United States Medical Corps from 1944 to 1946, attaining the rank of Major.

Services were held at St. Francis Borgia church, with interment in the parish cemetery.
