Joneta Cook, nee Pickering, 85, Catawissa, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004.

Mrs. Cook was born July 16, 1918, in Pine Bluff, Ark., the daughter of Joe Pickering and wife Rhoda, nee Monk.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Sandra Furhop, and one brother, Leonard Pickering.

Mrs. Cook is survived by one daughter, Judith Sutherland and husband Fred, Catawissa; one son, Michael Cook and wife Ellen, Summertown, Tenn.; two brothers, George Ray Pickering and wife Eva, Jefferson, Ark., and Lloyd Pickering and wife Faye, Bethel, Tenn.; one sister, Maxine McDonald, Whitehall, Ark.; five grandchildren, David Sutherland and wife Sharon, Steve Sutherland and wife Vera, Kathleen Sutherland and husband Ralph Furhop, Christopher Cook and Emily Cook; two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial services were held Friday, Jan. 23, at Pacific Presbyterian Church, Pacific, with the Rev. Rick Miller officiating.

Memorials to Pacific Presbyterian Church are preferred.

The Cook family was served by Bell Funeral Home, Pacific.
