I am trying to find a record in Dunklin County where Jabel/Abel/Jaban/J.B. and Larena/Aurora Putman/Putnam became guardians of Oliver Hardy Sheron/Sheran. Oliver was born in Tennessee; I have no idea of his parentage. On the 1870 census in Dunklin Co, MO the Putman/Putnam family consists of husband, wife, two girls and Oliver age 6. Before this time the family has lived in NW Tennessee. Can anyone tell me whether the guardianship was received in Dunklin County?

The family moved to Oregon County, MO sometime before the 1880 census where Oliver is counted at age 17 with the last name of Sheran and classified as an "other." Oliver was my ggrandfather. He used the name of Shurron as an adult.
