I am looking for the grave of Jacob Harry Fanning, c. 1866, nephew of Thomas Fanning and husband of Lucinda Fanning. I understand the Fannings were moved from Fanning Cemetery to Vaughan Cemetery when Stockton Lake was filled. Jacob was not a good man...last record of him was when he escaped from Alton Prison in Illinois and was recaptured and kept at Fort Scott waiting for a decision from Alton Prison as to where he should go next. There was also a petition for his release signed by Dade Co. citizens, opposed by the Sheriff. I would like to know what happened to him.
