I'm looking for information on my great great grandfather William Dudley Harrington. He married Amanda Crowley and left with her family to California before 1860. William and Amanda left California and moved to Arizona about 1879.

Hi, Amanda Crowley was the sister of my gg grandfather, Greenberry Crowley. We have a special list/board for those researching our family:
CROLEY-L@rootsweb.com. We use that spelling since most of our line pronounce Crowley with a "long o". Where in Arizona was Amanda? My line was in California but ended up in Kingman AZ.

Amanda moved to Dudleyville, Pinal county, Arizona. She is burried at the old Dudleyville cemetery.

Good morning,
I find this very interesting as my ancestor is William Dudley HOLMAN from Clay Co., MO and moved to CA in and about 1870-1880

William Dudley, ugh? Maybe a family name and passed on through the generations?

Cheryl

There are a lot of simularities it looks like. Here is what I have on William Dudley Harrington. Born 1827 in Joplin, Missouri. I believe his parents were William Harrington and Hannah Lowell, but I am still chasing that one. William Dudley married Amanda Crowley in 1852 and they moved to California about 1857. They then moved to Arizona about 1881. They had 6 children: William, Mary, Hannah, Joseph, America, and California. The first child William may have been from a previous marriage of Amanda's (a man named John Reed). I have a lot of information on the Harringtons so if this looks like the right person send me an email at rlfinch01@msn.com and we can see what we have in common.

Cheryl, the Holmans were intermarried with the Crowleys in Missouri, so William Dudley may very well be a family name.
They seemed to name each other from family names.

My gggrandfather, Green Berry Crowley, was named for his uncle, Green Berry Thorp.
