I've look at my info including old printouts and old source info and I can't find that I've ever showed Robert Smith as being born in Clay Co, MO! However, I do have info from sources that indicates that Syntha Pryor was born in Clay Co, MO. The only census record we have for Robert Smith with his wife is the 1860 which lists him as born in VA. So, I don't think I ever had him listed as being born in Clay Co, MO unless I made an error that I don't know about.

Still, I wonder about your Civil War reference. How do you know that "he served in the 43rd Missouri Infantry" and that he "apparently died in Texas while still in the army about 1865"?

I have corresponded will Kathy Fuller and she does not have any additional info on Robert Smith.

Do you have any military records for Robert Smith?
