Classification: Query
Surnames: BOURLAND, LINGENFELTER
I am trying to determine what happen to my ggrandmother's first husband, George P LINGENFELTER b 1873/74 a young physician. Her name was Melissa Comer BOURLAND, b 1876. I found their marriage license date 5 Oct 1897 Clay Co, Mo. Supposedly he died and she moved to Louisiana to nurse yellow fever patients..she did her nurses training in Kansas City area. In 1900 she remarries. All of these records list her a widow of George P LINGENFELTER. I can only find one man with this full name. G P LINGENFELTER, a phy shows up on a 1900 Clay Co census and a 1930 Denver Co census. All other information matches. I am thinking maybe they got a divorce?? Can anyone shed light on this or tell me where I might find Clay Co divorce records? This is not a subject that seems to be discussed very much.
