Not positive this is the same Frank Dye you are seeking, but think so. Am not related, nor am I researching this line. Just trying to help out. Perhaps the children’s names will ring a bell for you.

There is also a Vernon G Dye tombstone in Van Horn Cemetery in Carroll County, MO. It bears only one date – 16 Nov 1937. That would seem to indicate that he is still living.

There is also a 2010 Frank L Dye obituary in the Chillicothe, MO newspaper that you might want to look at.

I am trying to locate my grandma and grandpa. I know that I went to their funerals there when I was a small girl. I have been in the military for several years and wanted to see if anyone of my relatives posted pics of their stones on here. I can't even find their names. Can anyone help with this? I have recently been working on my Turnidge/Shirley lines and found your posting for Caleb and Phebe Gibbons Shirley. Their son, possibly no proof yet, Henry Vardimann Shirley is my G.G.G.Grandfather, he married Mary Ellen Turnidge/Turnage in Carroll County in about 1850. I would love to find the exact marriage date.
My line is from their daughter Eliza Jane Shirley and James Patton, their son Jessa A. Patton and Emma Slabaugh, their daughter Ellen Patton.

I am descended from Sarah Jane dau of William and Betsy Evans. I am also descended from Lucinda Winfrey Adkins who was a Neice of Williams. If you look at Gr Grandmother Bessie's birth certificate it does not list a father due to the death of Joel Ellis Anderson in 1885 in Livingston county MO. Bessie was not born until 1889 but her mother still had her last marriage name Anderson. You can find Bessie's mother and Joel Anderson's marriage record here. They were married in Livingston co, MO. Joel Ellis was the child of Osborn Anderson and wife Sarah Davis.

Prior to Bessie s marriage to Joel Anderson Gr Grandmother Bessie was married to a Michael Baker Apr 1868 at Kosciusko, Indiana. By that marriage there were two children. Marriage information can be found here.

I do not have a copy of Bessie Mae Morrow Key obituary. If you would email a copy or transcript of it I would be grateful. The information in the obit was probably due to the fact that at the time children born out of wedlock were deeply frowned upon and would cause great embarrassment to the family.

I have looked at the Carroll County Mo records and can't find a match for your Query. Did find obit of Bessie Key, it says father Joseph Anderson, she was born Chillicothe Mo
Maybe whom ever gave her obit didn't know details.
My question to you is when was Joel E anderson born? There are three on 1870 census CCMO. There are estate settlements for one Joel and wife Jeanette they don't match by their heirs.

Bessie Mae was my great grandmother. The information comes from family elder's oral history. How are you related to Bessie Mae Anderson Morrow. Bessie's mother still had her previous husbands name Anderson, but was raised by her grandmother Morrow.

The obits were in the local papers. They are available through the Carrollton Public Library, 1 N Folger Carrollton Mo 64633. I copied them and they are on the desk of Director Sue Lightfoot. There was a fee of $5 for search 2 copies at 20c each and 45c for postage.$5.85. Make check to Carrollton Public Library.When Sue receives your check she will send them. By the way Alvin and Geneva obtained their marriage license in Carroll Co. This license is available at Carrollton Courthouse 8 S main suite 3 Carrollton Mo 64633 book 9 page 115.

IRT Thomas Caffrey and his daughter Bridget Caffrey. Your Bridget could not be the same one as mine because in 1860 my Bridget would have been 10 years old. She was born in 1950 and there is no other information on her anywhere in any census, marriage or death notices. Very frustrating.
