Calvin Snyder, 78, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, February 22, 2002 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born June 23, 1923 at Bonne Terre [St. Francois County, MO].
He was the son of the late John Calvin Snyder and Mary Jane "Rolens' Snyder.
He married Ruth Maude Hays on August 16, 1942 in Bismarck. She preceded him in death February 3, 2001. Calvin worked for the Borden Company for 35 years, the last 21 years as manager of the Cape Girardeau plant, retiring in 1988. He graduated from the Desloge High School in 1940.
He is survived by one son, Randall L. Snyder of Mt. Vernon, Ill.; one sister, Virginia, Mrs. William Meyers, of Bonne Terre; one brother-in-law and two sisters-in law, Clyde and Margaret Marler of Park Hills and Eileen Rhodes of Cape Girardeau; two nephews, John and Bill Meyer; one aunt, Joyce Nance of Bonne Terre; and several cousins also survive.
Visitation will be at the Caldwell Funeral Home in Park Hills 5 p.m. Sunday. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Caldwell Memorial Chapel in Park Hills with Rev. Willard Snyder officiating. Burial will be at Hillview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Farmington.
