I'm searching for any descendants of James "Jim" Elder, wife Denie Roberts. Jim died of TB at the hospital in Fulton in Oct. 1925. Jim was born in Saline Co., Ill., but was living in
Naylor, Ripley Co., Mo. before going to the hospital in Fulton.
These names I believe are his descendants: James, jr.; Stella, Edna, Edward, Bessie, Ermal and Lily who married a Ray Metz. If anyone has any info. please contact me, I am a

Hello Vivian, I believe that there are still some descendents living in Callaway Co. MO and involve the RODECAPE family. According to my data, Parley Rodecape and Bertha Elder were married September 9, 1929, in Fulton, Callaway Co. MO. Bertha was born on or about January 19, 1912, in Naylor, Missouri to Denie and Jim Warren Elder. Good luck on your Elder research. Regards, Dan Smith

I know this is an old message but the only Rodecap I found in Callaway, Mo. is a Harley Rodecap in the 1930 census age 30 and single.

Any ideas where your Parley is in 1930?

Any followup on Bertha? I found Ray Metz and Lilly where they had one daughter Myrtle O. Metz and appears she may have married a Russell Rentschler in 1937.

Ray Metz died in May 1970 his daughter Myrtle may have died in 1978. Have not found an SSDI record on Myrtle.

RENTSCHLER Russell Rentschler, age 91, of Fulton, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2007, at Fulton Presbyterian Manor. Survivors include: a son Riley R. Rentschler, Lake Ozark; three grandchildren, John S. Rentschler, Columbia, Kurt Richter, Davis, Calif., and Flint Richter, Fayetteville, Ark.; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 17, at the Debo Funeral Home, in Fulton. Burial will follow at Callaway Memorial Gardens.
