Looking for info on William, Josiah, and John S. HOWARD, who are all listed in the 1850 Buchanan census. They were all the sons of John Baker HOWARD and Mary SEMONES. William and Josiah were born in IN, John S. in VA.

William and Josiah were unmarried at the time of the census, but John S. had married Rebecca PREWITT in Grundy Co, MO in 1843. However, I believe he had been married previously since he already had two sons in 1850: James, 20; and John, 14. Rebecca was only 29 at the time.

John S., Rebecca, and son John later went to Mercer Co., MO. I believe Wm. and Josiah stayed in Buchanan Co, and do not know what happened to James.
Would appreciate any info anyone can provide. Thank you.
Barbra Chambers
My great grandmother, Stella Minnie Smith George was born in Oct. 1869 in St. Joseph. On March 23, 1887 she married Robert Lee George in Easton. Robert passed on Aug. 06, 1942 and is buried in Moxley Cemetery.
Stella passed on Jan. 31, 1956 in Southgate, Los Angeles Co., Ca., at 86 years of age. She is buried beside her husband in Moxley Cemetery. She was either visiting family at the time of her passing or may have moved in with them.
Stella's father passed in Dec 1870 and her mother passed in Apr 1872 leaving her and her siblings orphans.
As her parents died in-between census's and her birth also being in-between the census's, I have been unable to find out who her parents were.
Am looking to connect with family members who may know or am seeking from anyone who may have knowledge of her parents to help me connect Stella with her biological parents.
Thank you

Mrs. George Richardson (don't have a first name) was my grandfather's niece according to an old newspaper clipping where they had visited for a Goldsborough family reunion in West Fork, Arkansas in 1962. We want to contact this family to send them information on our upcoming reunion.

Any information is very much appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
M.
Francis King, age 44, was b. in Iowa. His father was b. in Tn. and his mother in Va. His wife, Sarah, age 44, was born in Ohio, as were her parents. They were in the Monroe Twp. in Andrew County, in 1880. They are believed to have lived around Avenue City at one time. They had the following children, Marshall, age 20, Mary J., age 14, Lulu, age 12, George Francis, age 8, Susan E., age 5, and Amos, age 2. Given the close proximity to Buchanan County, would anyone have any information on the King family? I am helping a relative of Francis to trace the family's whereabouts in the early days. Any help appreciated. Thanks, Dennis

I do not live in Missouri and need to check the directory for genealogy research that I am doing on a family that lived there around 1870. They are not listed in the 1870 census, so maybe I can find them in the directory. The Ancestry.Com does not have that year.

thank you

Mittie L. McCrary (b. circa 188?) near Easton, MO. Our family had three photos of Mittie L. McCrary. In one photo she is about 3 yrs old seated in a chair. In another, she is about 16 yrs old, in a pre or homemade Gibson girl dress with exaggerated sleeves. In the third, she is about 22 yrs in a dark, high necked, lace bodice, and belted dress, maybe late Gibson Girl style. On this photo is written "Mittie L. McCrary" and printed are the words "Southwest City, Missouri." She is well dressed and alone in the photos.

We also have a photo with boys Don McCrary age 13 and Farley McCrary age 9 who might be Mittie's brothers.

We believe Mittie is daughter of Elijah Don McCrary (m. 4 Oct 1874) Phoebe Genomy Smith probably in Buchanan Co. MO.

We would like to share these photos with a descendant.
I appreciate any help with look-ups in Buchanan County, Missouri.

I have been searching for Missouri Death Indexes (1873 to about 1930). I'm looking for death records for my gggrandmother, Anna Shula. She had a son, Frank Shula, in St Joseph, Missouri, 27 Nov 1873. So she died at least after that date. I think that she was born about 1828, so I'm assuming she didn't live past 102. The son's birth is all that I have that puts them in Missouri. She had a daughter, Mary Anne, in Wisconsin in 1862.

I'm also trying to locate the family in the Missouri Census (1870 to 1900). The husband's name was Martin Shula. I don't know of any other children. I don't know when they came to Missouri, except it was probably after 1862 and before 1873.

Any help would be appreciated.

David Hanush
dave@hanush.com

Ridenbaugh listed as residing at W.S. 4th between Auguste & Isabelle, I would like to know if there was anyone else living there with her? It seems that this person is residing at E.S.2nd between Antoine and Louis in 1871. Who else is staying at this residence? If I could check this out for myself I would, but I do not have the St. Joseph City Directory, and I do not know where I can buy one for those years. So can someone please help me?

Thanks

Edward WYLIE Death /Burial/Cemetery Records

Does anyone have access to death, burial, or cemetery records in Buchanan County? Edward WYLIE married Elizabeth TEANEY (incorrectly recorded as LEANEY) in 1849. Their daughter Jennie/Jane/Jo was born in 1850. They had more children until 1856. Elizabeth was remarried (ADAMS) by 1860, so that leaves only a 4-year window that Edward likely died ( or perhaps left the family?). I would like to have any records pertaining to Edward Wylie.

I have a photo of a group of well dressed people standing in front of The New York Racket. On top of the store it says Dry Goods and Millinery. It also says The Old Corner 4th & Felix. Hand written on the back it says 1st store March 1891. In another place it says May 1896 with the note Morris Hirsch far left. It was quite a large store. Does anyone know any history of this store? Or the Hirsch family? I got this at auction about 7 or 8 years ago. It came from the estate of someone named Ballard who lived at Hiawatha KS. Thanks Donna

I'm trying to locate Peter and Augusta (Ruhnke) Dannevig (Dannevik). Peter was born in Buchanan County in 1850 to Osul Mathias Dannevig and Sara Nielson. Sara died in Buchanan County in 1854. Osul Mathias appears to have moved to Kansas, but Peter either stayed or came back, married Augusta Ruhnke and died in Buchanan County in 1941. Augusta died in 1948. I think they lived in St. Joseph when they died. They had nine children; one of them, Edgar Olaf Dannevik, was my grandfather. I don't know when the name spelling changed from Dannevig to Dannevik.

Albert E. BURCH Family of Buchahan Co., MO

I'm looking for information about the family of Albert E. BURCH. According to info I have, Albert was born in North Carolina in September of 1840.

Albert married Mary MULTRY about 1869, probably in Buchanan Co. Mary was born in November of 1848, in Wallace, Buchahan Co., MO.

Albert and Mary had six children:
1) Dora E. BURCH, born about 1870, who married John M. BLEAZARD about 1889.
2) James R. BURCH, born about 1871. No further info.
3) Wyatt W. BURCH, born 11/15/1873, married Ada Muzetta MCVEY about 1902.
4) Mahala A. BURCH, born 11/1875.
5) Estella M. BURCH, born about 1882, married George A. CHILDRELL.
6) Henry C. BURCH, born 9/1884 in Wallace, Buchahan Co., MO.

I think Albert E. BURCH probably died in Buchanan Co. sometime after 1900, and Mary married John ALLEN sometime before 1930.

I would like to correspond with anyone having any information about any of these persons. Thanks for any info you can provide.

Art Burch
