Hi Pat!! Yes, I do have pictures and information about Carrie, as well as her parents and siblings. My great grandfather was Cap and Emma's son, William! Information about John and Mary is hard to come by, as he died prior to 1880, and Mary re-married and moved to Rich Hill. I would LOVE to share information! I bet you have a bunch of information that would help me and hopefully, together, we can tear down that wall to John's parents. All I know is the he and his brother came here from Germany/Prussia.

My father was Eddie Connelly. He was adopted in KC by John Connelly, a Rich HIll, MO haberdasher & his wife. I do recall on our one visit to Rich HIll that we had two aunts. Julia was one aunt's name and at least one of them had the name Schmit.
So, bottom line, i clearly remember a Julia and a Schmit related by blood or marriage to John Connelly.

I'm the niece of George Arthur Wines, who married Anna Kathryn Perkio (Perkkio, Perkiv, Perkin)in December 1928 (according to family records.) I've found Anna (b. 1908, MI) and her daughters, Zandra and Mary Lou, in the 1940 census in Jacks, Laurens, SC. Anna is listed as a widow. My Uncle George died in 1936. I've found Anna and her mother and sister in the 1920 census in Franklin, Houghton, MI. I have family records that Zandra married Ben Outain on 16 May 1946 and that she had four children. While searching on Ancestry.com I have found the Resz family tree, but no connection to Outain. My mother, Viola Wines Krapf Fuller, is still living and told me this afternoon that she used to correspond with Zandra, but she couldn't remember the family names. I'd like to know if the information I have is correct and if any one has a photo of Zandra or anyone in her family. I'd also like to know if Mary Lou was George's daughter and if not, who was her father?

And by the way, George was married first to Vernita Binger and they had Floyd Arthur and Juanita Evelyn before he married Anna. If you'd like to see my family tree, let me know and I'll make you a guest.

Andrea Krapf Betts

Thank you for your reply. The first of our Bowman ancestors to come to America was Edmund Bowman, who was born in the district of St. Giles Cripplegate, London, Middlesex, England, in 1700. He was apparently a twin, as Edmund and his brother Arthur were christened on the same date, Dec. 27, 1700, at the Church of St. Edmund and the Holy Sepulchre (better known as St. Sepulchre's-without-Newgate). Arthur died a few months later. Arthur went on to become a teacher.
He gained passage to America as an indentured servant to a wealthy wine merchant named James Gerald. He came first to Maryland, where he apparently served out his four-year indenture, then settled in New Jersey. Long story made short: The next generations of our Bowmans eventually left New Jersey for Ohio --Cincinnati area (Hamilton County), from Ohio to Logan County, Illinois (where my grandfather, Amos Bowman was born to William Sidney and Margaret Mills Bowman), from Illinois to Missouri (Bates County), from Missouri to Wilson County, Kansas, and then my parents, Amos Alvin and Reva (Crawshaw) Bowman, came to California with my two brothers, Bill and Ellis, in the mid-1930s. My sister Linda and I were born here in California.

Cephus Bowman was the youngest of the Bowman siblings born to William and Margaret, in 1869. He and Fannie eventually divorced, and Fannie moved to California. Margaret and William probably divorced. William died in 1872. Margaret remarried a man by the name of Efrim Alard, in Missouri, in the late 1800s. Her father's name was Jonathan Mills. The Mills and Bowman families apparently traveled together from Hamilton County, Ohio, to Logan County, Illinois, where they had farm land in Mt. Pulaski Township. When I visited the little Carpenters Run Cemetery in Ohio, where Richard Bowman (1767-1829), William Sidney's grandfather, is buried, I noticed a number of graves in the same cemetery with the Mills surname.

I know this is a lot of stuff to digest. I have much more information in the family history I've written. The Bowmans are a very ancient family, having their origins in the border territories of England and Scotland. Lots of fascinating information.

Keep in touch.
Rod Bowman

Hello!! so great to hear from you.
Cephus annd Fannie's eldest son Melvin Edward is my 2nd great grandfather. He was a school teacher who moved to Santa Barbara between 1920 and 1930. Melvin married Elizabeth Lucinda Bates, they had three sons Donald, Robert and the youngest Harold Stewart who is my great grandfather.
Harold married Gloria Ann Herrick, who is still living. They had four daughters, the eldest Linda is my grandmother who is also still living. A picture of them is posted in my tree.

I would love any information you have on the Bowman family. All I know is what other people have posted publicly on their trees.

I believe William Sidney was married to a Margaret H Mills, I would like to know more about her parents, etc. If you have it.

William Sidney Bowman (1824-1872) was my great-grandfather.
My grandfather was Amos Bowman (1857-1930), who was a brother of Cephus Demetrius Bowman, Jasper Bowman, Clorissa Bowman, and Sina Bowman. Amos and Cephus married sisters from the Ellis family: Amos married Ella Ellis and Cephus married Fannie Ellis. My father was Amos Alvin Bowman, seventh and last child of Amos and Ella Bowman. I have much more information about this family, going back as far as Richard Bowman, born ca. 1669 in Merstham, Surrey, England. I would like to connect with any descendants of Cephus Bowman.

However, the statutes for registering these events were not made mandatory until 1926. However, many local registrars did not adhere to the statutes until the late 1930’s or early 1940’s.
Hello, I am wondering if you can help me. I am researching our Sullivan family Line. They lived in the Missouri area from the 1850s through the turn of the century. We are not sure of the eldest parents names but understand that they passed away sometime during the Civil War in the Pest House near Ironton, Missouri. We were also told that this "Pest House" was later referred to as the "Poor Farm". They had several children that were taken in by various family and area people following their parent's death from the Small Pox. Two of the children were William Victor Sullivan (born in Dec 1859) and his brother, John L. Sullivan (born in August 1856). We believe there were two sisters, N.Nancy and Elizabeth (Lizzie). We believe there may have been others but can't be sure. William was reportedly born in Liberty, Iron County, Missouri and in all likliness, so were his siblings. We would love to know more about the family should anyone know. William Victor Sullivan married Etta Caroline Braswell, Lizzie married Nathan Oneal. A small note that a cousin has shared has some information written on it that, "the Sullivans were buried near the "Ivester Farm". We are not sure if there may be a cemetery there somewhere or that they were buried on what is now "private property". We would love to discover the whereabouts of their final resting place. Other families associated are the "Carnahans" Stevenson or Stepherson" "Hubble" "Oneal" and "MCfadden" Should you have any information, please email me at glendalecrazy@aol.com or give me a call at 406-465-5667. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
