Hezekiah Boone Jr. mostly likely died in Orange County, Indiana, before 1 June 1840; as he does not appear in the Census taken that year. His widow Jane "Jenny" Boone and her children appear in the Stamper Creek township of Orange County Indiana in 1840. In April of 1851; Jane moved with Jarvis Smith & his wife Polly to Andrew County, Missouri. Jarvis's father Humphrey Smith had married Abagail Boone; a sister-in-law to Jane Duncan Boone.
