I too am researching my Carithers of MS and was told that my William H. Carithers may be the son of Robert and Hannah.
William was b. 1839 in MS and m. Clementine (Carroll?). I think Williams Siblings were James, and Mattie and possibly others.
William served in the CSA and returned to MS. He was in Montgomery co. and later Carroll Co. He is buried at Hickory Grove but no dates on the marker.
His daugher Roxie M. married mg G GF John J. Brown at Duck Hill, MS. 1889.
In the census records, William lists his father as being from SC and his mother from GA.
I do find a James Carithers from SC that could be his father.
