Is anybody out there searching for the Ellis or Smith families? My family has always known that my ggrandfather, James M. Ellis was killed in the Civil War. I was elated recently when I discovered a little bit about him. He was a prisoner of the Point Lookout Prison in Mayland, died of wounds, and was buried in a common grave thereI. His name and CSA rank and unit is listed on the CSA monument there. Of course, this doesn't help to identify his parents. He was born about 1815 in North Carolina according to the 1860 Yalobusha Co. census, address Oakland P.O. Can anyone help?

I have no clue as to the parents of my ggrandmother Sarah Smith other than the fact that my grandmother, Lucy Ann Ellis Boyle, b. 1862 in Yalobusha Co at Airmount, 2nd wife of Willis F. Boyle, recorded the names of her parents in her Bible.
