In the 1850 Warren County, MS census I find John WATSON, 64, b NC and Fanny Watson, 64, b MD. The are in the Oak Ridge area. They reside two households away from Joseph & Nancy MCCANLISS (McCandless/McCanless). Joseph was b TN about 1820 and Nancy was b NC about 1820.

In 1845 John Watson was a witness, along with Jacob WEBSTER, when Nancy McCanless purchased Warren Co., MS property from Robert E. THOMPSON of Claiborne Co., MS. Samuel Watson witnessed a Deed of Gift from Joseph McCandless to Frances E. McCandless et al 4 Dec 1849. Joseph McCanliss was bondsman for the Warren Co., MS marriage of Samuel Watson to Charlotte Harris 5 Dec 1849. I find no Samuel Watson in the Warren Co., MS census of 1850.

Were the Watson's relatives of Joseph or Nancy McCandless? There is supposition that Jacob Webster was Nancy's brother but this is unproven. Is Samuel the son of John and Fanny Watson? Who are the other family members?

Thanks much for any help.
