Overstreet/Hipps connection

I am inquiring to your posting on the internet of the Henry Overstreet Family Line. I have recently started trying to come up with some of my grandfather's (Leo Hipps) family tree information so I googled his name and your site came up. I found buried in the extensive research his name listed on page 28, entry #117. You have listed the same siblings but the parents are different that what I have documentation on. I have a typed sheet about the family of William Thomas Hipps which states that he was born on November 29, 1870 in Arkansas and died on March 17, 1928 in Electra, TX. He was married to Virginia Mae Ricketts in Arkansas (or possibly in Paris, TX). She was born May 4, ?? and died in February 1915 and buried in Anson, TX. It does list her as having siblings but none of them are named Overstreet.

I'm new at doing geneology so I can easily get lost on a rabbit trail but thought the listing of the children in your report that gives my granfather's information as I have it in documents that there must be some connection.

I commend you on your extensive Family tree. I would love that this is part of my tree to know that someone has taken it all the way back to the 1700's would be phenominal.

Thank you for any information you can give me as I begin this journey climbing my family tree.

Lisa Hipps Mitchell
Could someone do a cemetery look-up for me on James R. Clardy born 1850 and died in Stone county, MS December 12, 1930? According to his death certificate, the undertaker was "Dees and Co. of Perkiston, MS" and the body was removed to McHenry, Mississippi. Does anyone know if the funeral home records of this undertaker still survive? Thanks!

I am looking for a John, Thomas or possibly Alfred TUCKER that might have been living in Mississippi before 1845. The Tucker I am looking for might have married an Elizabeth Badeau from LA or MS. At one time we thought we had them connected to Jane Humphry, but that is not correct.
John Jefferson Tucker was born in 1845 in McComb, MS, the son of the above query.J.J. Tucker married (in 1875) Anneta Whitcomb of Covington St. Tam., LA. JJ. and Anetta named one of their sons, Thomas Brinsfield Tucker. There might be a Brinsfield connection. We are having a devil of a time finding out about his parentage. Family lore is very confusing and contridictory!
HELP, HELP, HELP!
Thanks,
Jana Rooke
John E. Stone (have seen John H. Stone) is my great grandfather on my mother's side. His son Tilden John Stone
married Malinda A. Crabtree and are my grandparents.
My mother was Mary Ann (Atta) Stone. John E. Stone's
father was born in New Jersey and his mother in Canada.
No one seems to have much more information. John E.
Stone may have been born in 1841 in Ohio. He lived out
his life in Brown County, Illinois ( west of Springfield, IL) .
There are many many various names used for his wife.
None seem to agree or able to find information relating to
John E. Stone. John E. Stone may have been a Miner
as a child (coal mines?) and a farmer as an adult. John E.
Stone was a Civil War veteran on the Northern side. Like
most families who have lived in the USA we have folks from
both sides during that war. I am hope someone has some
information on this man. If you do or even think you do
please contact me at DIGPPA@aol.com.
Thank you! I had wondered whether that might be the case since I'd seen the name "Wiggins Cemetery" in searching obituaries, but I wasn't positive since sometimes people use town names for the largest cemetery in a town instead of using the specific cemetery names -- e.g., I've heard people say "Vicksburg Cemetery" for Cedar Hill or "Lexington Cemetery" for Odd Fellows. I was worried that "Wiggins Cemetery" might be a reference to Woodlawn Park.

What is the name of the cemetery a block or two south of Woodlawn Park in Wiggins? I'm not talking about the two parts of Woodlawn that are on different sides of the street. This one is separated from Woodlawn by a block or two of houses. The cemetery covers approximately a block in a residential area (I think I was on 5th St. when I saw it, though I'm not positive), is fairly shady, and is well kept.

I was in Wiggins a few days ago fulfilling a photo-request somebody had made on findagrave.com (for Woodlawn Park) and stopped and took a few pictures at this other cemetery the name of which I don't know. It does not show up on GoogleEarth. I can't do anything with the pictures if I don't know its name.

Thanks.

-- Natalie Maynor

Through a freak of nature or whatever, one of my dipshit cousins was able to get through to me tonight to tell me that all of the family made it okay. There is a lot of damage, the only word from Pop was that he was riding around town trying to find a chainsaw. Mom told me that there were a bunch of trees down at their place before we lost contact.
I asked what we could send or what was needed in Wiggins. Cuz said "gas". We don't have gas here in North Carolina, it comes from there. He said that they had no way to keep frozen foods. Red Cross is trying to deliver Ice, it just doesn't last long enough. Water was restored, electricity was not. Generators are working when they can get gas. Most buildings, houses and such have been damaged. Wal-mart is pissed becaused Piggly Wiggly opened before they did.
There are no hurricane related deaths in Stone County that we know of.

Her father, Jesse Bond (Robert, John, John), was born 4/12/1826 in Mississippi, a descendant of the Bonds who first moved to the area of Stone County around 1810.
Charles Fayette Howell and Mary Jane Autry Howell

Looking for any information anyone may have regarding Charles Fayette Howell and his wife Mary
Jane Autry Howell, my g-g-aunt, who moved to Perkinston in Stone County, MS between 1910 and 1920 from Fayetteville, North Carolina. I know they are both buried in the Perkinston Cemetery, but little else.
Charles died in 1960, Mary in 1965. They had children named Charlie, Jr., Amos, and Evelyn. I am hoping that some of their descendants are still living in the area and would be willing to share what they know. Thanks.

Robin,
I am very interested in the two brothers who discovered Ramsey Springs. My family is from there and I am not sure but I think we are related to Daniel in some way. We married into some of the same families and lived in the same area.
Amy
