John E. Stone (have seen John H. Stone) is my great grandfather on my mother's side. His son Tilden John Stone
married Malinda A. Crabtree and are my grandparents.
My mother was Mary Ann (Atta) Stone. John E. Stone's
father was born in New Jersey and his mother in Canada.
No one seems to have much more information. John E.
Stone may have been born in 1841 in Ohio. He lived out
his life in Brown County, Illinois ( west of Springfield, IL) .
There are many many various names used for his wife.
None seem to agree or able to find information relating to
John E. Stone. John E. Stone may have been a Miner
as a child (coal mines?) and a farmer as an adult. John E.
Stone was a Civil War veteran on the Northern side. Like
most families who have lived in the USA we have folks from
both sides during that war. I am hope someone has some
