Three people were arrested for killing Walter Nichols on 10 June 1916: Ode Williamson, Cooper Williamson and Cola Williamson Nichols.
In 1918 Ode Williamson was sentence to a Life Sentence in a Mississippi State Prison.
Cooper Williamson must have been cleared of the crime as he can be seen in the various Census going on with his life.
Cola Williamson Nichols, who was the Williamson brothers cousin married to David Lemuel Nichols, the son of Walter Nichols, her trial was separate from the Williamson brothers. Other than her testimony give at Ode's Appeal Trial in 1917, I can find no other history of what happened to Cola, did she serve time or was she freed. I am looking for any information on Cola and her child that was the center of the domestic dispute that led to Walter'death. Her father was Richard Willis Williamson (1860) and her mother is Flavenia Williamson Williamson (1860).
Any help you may give me would be greatly appreciated.
