I am searching for the history of this old Hotel which last belonged to my Grandparents: J.K. McNeil & Katie P. McNeil.
It was torn down in the mid.1970"s.It was located directly across from the railroad depot and now there is a church at the location. I'm not real sure of the year my grandparents purchased it,most likely in the 1950's. I was told it was the prior Gibson Hotel. It was 3 stories tall and had a full basement and a birdnest (you could see the whole town)on the third floor roof. My grandfather use to be the deputy sheriff and jailer for the town.Also I am interested in any newspaper articles about this. My dad, was David M. Campbell
He was a police officer in 1960-62 in the town and sometime after became a game warden for sharkey county up until he retired abt. 1972. I would also be interested in any newspaper articles about him.
