Married Mariah Lacy ca 1825.They are my gg grandparents.Their oldest child Alfred Jones Smith is my g grandfather b 31 May 1826.They had seven more children.Mariah d 2 Sept. 1872 in Rankin Co. Ms.

In my searching for my Smith, I saw a Luke Smith and family on the 1850 census for Polk County, Texas (all were listed as being born in Mississippi. By the way, I am searching for the names of parents of Lucinda Smith, born in 1874 somewhere in Texas. Census states both of her parents were born in Mississippi. On the 1880 census for Polk County I saw a Lucinda (age 7), along with siblings John (age 11), Missouri (age 9), and Rich (female) age 19. These may or may not be the family I am searching for. No parents were listed with them. I would really like to find out what Lucinda's parents names were.
