Classification: Query
Surnames: White, Dugan
David White, born 1810 in South Carolina, lived in Noxubee County in the 1840s and 1850s. No wife was listed in his household in the 1850 census. His five children, 18-year-old twins Mary Jane and Rebecca, 16-year-old Martha, 14-year-old David, and 11-year-old Eliza all had been born in Alabama. The farm of David White was listed in the 1853 Noxubee County Land Assessment Roll as being in Sec. 22, Twp. 13N, Rge 16E. This farm was located on Sand Creek, just south of present-day Hwy. 21 and four miles west of Shuqualak. Does anyone have further information on this David White? His daughter Mary Jane was the second wife of William Henry Dugan (1814-1867) who is buried in nearby Calhoun Cemetery.
