What does GUOOF stand for? Just today, I saw a number of stones with that name in the Greenwood Cemetery in Jackson, MS. They were for members of Lodge 1927.

Is GUOOF related to the International Order of Odd Fellows

GUOOF stands for Grand United Order of Odd Fellows. It was found in 1843 with a charter from Grand Lodge of Manchester, England. The head quarters is in Phildelphia, Pa. You can find more information in the book "The Official History and Manual of the Grand United Order of Odd Fellows in America" written by Charles H. Brooks. Also, google GUOOF. The web has some information. I am having a problem finding information on Lodge 7349. This Lodge was active in the early 1900s. My headstone is located in Webster County Mississippi. However, my family lived between Webster and Montgomery County. You may also search the Archives in Jackson, Mississippi. Do let me know if you find anything.

I am related to Joseph A. Edwards from Choctaw Co, so am not familiar with your family of Edwards'. I was born in Montgomery Co, MS near Stewart or Kilmichael..depending which way you walked through the woods!

We lived in Choctaw County but my family is from Webster County and Montgomery County and also Sunflower County. Surnames are Johnson, Sullivan, Hubboard or Hubbard, Yates, Hemphill, Wood or Woods,Goldman and Pogue
