I am looking for parents of Rev. L. David SCARBOROUGH (3 Sep 1854 - 20 Jul 1929 MS) h/o Viola Jane PARSONS (10 Apr 1856 Franklin Co., MS - 1 mar 1901 MS). Both are buried at Bethel United Methodist Ch. Cem., Lincoln Co., MS.
This is the obit form Viola Jane Parsons SCARBOROUGH:
"Obituary - Viola J. Parsons was born 10 Apr 1856. Joined the Baptist Church in '77 or '78, was married to Rev. L. D. Scarborough, Dec 29 1880, and died 1 Mar 1901. Sister Scarborough was an unassuming, matter of fact Christian. Her real life meant more than words usually imply. Her neighbors, relatives and church said of her, "She was a good woman." Her husband said "She was a good wife," and the children said, "What will we do without Mama?" She said to the writer a few days before her death she felt like the Lord was with her, and she was resigned to His will. One child preceded her to the spirit world. To the bereaved husband, the seven children, the aged mother, the brothers, sisters, host of relatives and friends, we extend our sympathies and pray the Comforter will bless. After the funeral services by R. J. BOONE, aided by Elder Z. LOFTIN, her body was buried in the Bethel cemetery to await the Resurrection. R. J. Boone"
According to death records from Hartman Funeral Home, found in the Library in Brookhaven, MS, the parents of L. David SCARBOROUGH were Allen SCARBOROUGH and Elizabeth SMITH; however, I have not been able to find anything on Allen and Elizabeth Smith SCARBOROUGH.
