Seek site of c1840s "Linwood" Plantation, Jefferson Co., Miss., owned by Joshua James, Jr., of Wilmington, N.C., who owned a name unknown plantation opposit Jeff Davis on the Miss. River in 1830s Adams Co., Miss., and sixty slave "Ione" plantation, Tensus Parish, La. A Mason, Josh' is buried in an unknown cemetery, New Orleans. His wife (Johnson) and four sons are entombed in the Pickens-Blount tomb, Cypress Cemetery, New Orleans. I desc. Josh's brother, LtCol. Robert Wm. James, 1820s Holmes Co., Miss., militia. Brother John Sage James owned the Wilmington, N.C., newspaper. Sister Sarah Julia James wed Andrew McIntyre of Kenansville, N.C. Father Joshua James, Sr., died Lexington, Miss., 1851, and mother, Mrs. Hetty-Bella Sage James died Richlands, Miss., 1845. J.A.L.Miller, Jr., Charlotte, N.C.
