Death Certificates for the most part did not become common in that area of MS until about 1910. The best you could hope for is a death notice placed in a local paper or if they had family in the Chicago area it might have appeared in the Defender. Jefferson County had the Fayette Chronicle possibly one other. Hope this helps...
