Henry Cagle, b. 13 Aug, 1807, d. 1 May 1888, buried in Carroll County in Mexican War grave,. mrd Sarah Shipp in Lawrence Co., MS 19 Jul 1832. By 1840, Henry Cagle was living in Holmes Co., MS, U. S. Census p. 261. I believe his father to be John Cagle of Lawrnece Co., died there and in 1840 Percilla Cagle, wife of John(tombstone inscription) was living in Holmes Co., U. S. census p. 264. The family lived at Emory and by 1850 had moved to the Blackmonton area of Carroll Co., MS. Henry Cagle says he was born in N. C. His children were: Jane, Josephine, Sarah, Westley and Coraella mrd Floyd King in Carroll County.. Was John and Percilla his parents? Where in N. C. did he come and who were the parents of John. From tax rolls and deeds I believe John and Percilla had the following: Mary Aline mrd Averitt Smith, Henry; James, b. abt 1811, Isaac, Greenbury buried in Attala with Percilla), Lutenbury, Paul, Eli. Whould very much appreciate hearing about this family.
