WILLIAM A. PRENTICE was born c. 1814 in NY. His middle name might be Alexander. William moved to MS at an unknown date and it is not known if he was accompanied by parents or siblings. He later married Mary Rainey in Hinds County about 1838 and, still later, William and his descendants settled in Greene County, MS.
