I am interested in any information about African American Fortner families in Hinds.

My maternal great grandmother is Phyllis Fortner who married Montgomery Jones and had 17 children (I believe) of whom, their son, Isadore Montgomery Jones, I am directly descended (he is the father of my mother). I believe that Phyllis had the following siblings:

Sophia
Rachel
Mary
Rochester
Anna
Thomas

Her father is believed to have been Lloyd Fortner according to the 1870 census for Hinds County.
