LIZZIE BANKS CARTER
On November 14, 2002, God relieved our loved one, SIS. LIZZIE BANKS CARTER, of her aches and pains. The Lord sent one of his angels to Glen Oaks Nursing Home with a touch of love to escort her home to eternal rest.
Funeral services were held on November 19, 2002.
SIS. LIZZIE BANKS CARTER was born to the late DAVID and ANNIS BANKS on May 9, 1912. She met and married JOSEPH CARTER. To this union was born three children.
She was preceded in death by two children, LILLIAN C. ESTES and POSEY CARTER; two sisters, EVELINA BANKS RILEY and LoDENA BANKS; and one granddaughter, EVELYN CARTER ABRAMS.
She joined Lily Grove Baptist Church at an early age and was an active and faithful member in the choir, usher board and mission until her health failed her.
She leaves to cherish her memories one son, JOSEPH (ELLA) CARTER, and daughter-in-law, MARY CARTER, all of Lucedale; two stepsons, RUDOLPH (BEVERLY) RILEY, Three Rivers, and JIMMY EZELL, Loss Angeles, CA.; one stepdaughter, JAMMIE (JAMES) POLK, Arcadia, FL; 15 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and 26 great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; a devoted niece, MRS. BRENDA LUDGOOD; five devoted friends, MR. & MRS. LEANDER TAYLOR, MRS. MAE RUTH HILL, MRS. AMMIE D. HILL, and MRS. JULIA MOODY, all of Lucedale. Cook-Galloway Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
