MANSFIELD: Reverend Willie HAYNES SR, 91, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Country Club Rehabilitation Campus, Delaware, Ohio after an extended illness.
Rev. Haynes was born on Friday, August 28, 1925 to the late Eugene and Glendora (Shaw) Haynes in Lula, Mississippi (Coahoma County) and had lived in Mansfield, Ohio for the past 65 years.
He was a former employee of Empire Detroit Steel Mill retiring after 33 years of service and sold Lucky Heart Cosmetics.
Rev. Haynes was a long time member and Associate Pastor of Mount Hermon Missionary Baptist Church. He also served at Free For All Missionary Baptist Church, New Life Baptist Church with Rev. Clarence Sanderfer, and Agape International Cathedral with Pastor Scott Logan.
He was no stranger to any one he met
Rev. Haynes loved making pound cakes, gardening and planting flowers, and most of all being at Church.
He is survived by his five sons Arthur, Charlie, Dennis (Glenny), and Willie Jr. (Bernice) Haynes, all of Mansfield,Ohio, Eddie (Diane) Haynes, Radner, Ohio where he made his home for the past six years; 18 Grandchildren; A Host of Great Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren; a sister Gladys Johnson, Memphis, Tennessee; Lorraine Taylor, Aurora, Colorado and Eugene Johnson, Orlando, Florida whom he raised as his own children.
In addition to his parents, Rev. Haynes was preceded in death by his wife Daisy (Ballard) Haynes.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM in the Mt. Hermon Missionary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
Interment will be in Mansfield Cemetery.
