LORAIN - William Selma Montgomery, Jr., 75, passed away Tuesday April 3, 2012 at Autumn Aegis Hospice Care in Lorain, Ohio.

He was born October 29, 1936 in Clarksdale, Mississippi.

Selma moved to Lorain, Ohio in 1951 and was a resident of Lorain, Ohio for over 60 years.
He was a 1955 graduate of Lorain High School, where he was outstanding in several sports and a vital member of the Acapella Choir.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from Ford Motor Company after 41 years.
Selma was a long time and faithful member of Second Baptist Church of Lorain.
He served as a Deacon and former chairman of the Deacon Board, a member of the choirs and as a Sunday School Teacher. He was an excellent singer and soloist with many area choirs. Selma was also an avid sportsman who loved to bowl and golf (he was extremely proud of the hole in one he made in April 1991).
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Rosetta (nee Francis); three daughters, Michaelle Montgomery of Lorain, OH, Deborah Montgomery of Mt. Prospect IL and Darlene (Montgomery) Younger (James) of Yuma AZ; a one son Tyrone Montgomery of Lorain; six grandchildren, Kadillac, Kristen, Jalissa, Jasmine, L' Jey, and Jasil; and six great grandchildren; three sisters; Mazaline (Montgomery) Stubbs of Chicago IL, Eva M. (Montgomery) Harris of Elyria, Priscilla Montgomery of Los Angeles CA; two brothers Douglas (Julia) Montgomery of Chicago IL. and Frederick (Malarie) Montgomery of Crestwood KY; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Selma was preceded in death by his parents, William S. and Edna L. (nee Eason) Montgomery; two sisters, Estella (Montgomery) Jenkins, E. Louise (Montgomery) Randleman; and one brother, Louis Montgomery.
At the request of the family, there will be no service.
Professional services were entrusted to Brown-Robinson Funeral Home, 2652 Broadway Ave., Lorain OH 44052.
