I show that James David Townsend was listed in the US census in Shelby County, Tennessee in 1930, Grenada Co., MS in 1920, and in Carroll Co., MS 1910. I show him with the following children:

1. Sarah L. Townsend, born around 1874 in MS, died around 1957, married Joe McDaniel, who was born around 1880. They also lived in Shelby Co. TN in 1930.
2. Mary E. Townsend, born around 1878 in MS, she married a Crowder and also lived in Shelby Co., TN in 1930.
3. David Ella Townsend, a daughter, born around 1886 in MS.
4. Howard Townsend, born around 1890 in MS.
5. Henry Townsend, born around 1893 in MS.
6. Edward Townsend, born around 1896 in MS.

7. Nelson Townsend, born around 1905 in MS.

Also living in James David's house in 1910 was a nephew, the son of Benjamin Townsend and Lula, G. F. Townsend. Also in the household was Lamar Mullen, not sure if he was a relative.
