Dr. B.F. Kittrell was born December 24, 1837 in Greensboro AL and died April 27, 1897at Blackhawk MS. He and wife E.M. are buried at Blackhawk Cemetery. I believe him to be Dr. Benjamin Kittrell-Captain and Assistant Surgeon, 1st Mississippi Infantry but I am not yet certain. My grandmother, Eleanor Elizabeth Kittrell was born at Blackhawk March 16, 1867 to Dr. B.F. and E.M. Kittrell. She married Dr. John McCaslin Shivers about 1885 and had four daughters: Kate, Maud Pate,John(Johnnie) and Alice. Dr. Shivers died November 10, 1892 and is buried in Blackhawk Cemetery. In December 1898, Eleanor Elizabeth married Ben Riley Clark, a former Blackhawk resident. She and her daughters then moved to Arizona with Mr. Clark. I know little about the Kittrells and Shivers life in Mississippi except what is listed here. I believe there to be other children to Dr. B.F. and E.M. but have not yet found relationships. I would appreciate any information or suggestions you might have.
Thank you, Wayne Clark
