My relatives are the Aiken/Durbin/Becks from Carroll County. For the most part, they left Carroll County some years after the Civil War for Texas. My brother and I are returning on March 13,2004 to place a granite marker on the currently unmarked Durbin family grave site and to place a granite marker to indicate the location of the Kea Cemetery where a few headstones still exist. The Aiken and Durbin families lived in the northwest part of the county (near Aikens Creek and McCain property); the Becks lived in northeast near what was Beckville. Have now located about 13 Civil War vets from Carroll County in family.
