I believe I could be the great great grandson of Aaron Beck, Orrin Beck's younger brother. My great grand father was also named Aaron, or full name Aaron Rose Beck, born 1858. His brother Robert Bedford Beck showed on his death certificate that his father, Aaron and wife, Carline, were born in Tennessee and in other places I see North Carolina and Mississippi. Robert and Aaron were said to have spent years in Mississippi and Robert was said to have owned a plantation near Vicksburg, Mississippi. After the devastation of the Civil War they moved to Texas. Freed slave wanted to move with them to Texas but they could not afford to support them. Older relatives think something happened to the older Aaron during the war. Robert also spent several years running cattle in Cuba, 1905 - 1912. Most of my family has been in the cattle business for years. Several individuals in my family have Bedford in their name and one had the name of Bedford Forrest Beck. Which, coincidentally, was the the name of Miriam Beck's son, Bedford Forrest, and Orrin Beck's nephew. I just sent in my DNA to determine links to the correct Beck family tree. Hopefully, I will know in the next 6 to 8 weeks.
I have discovered some books about Beck family trees in the Library of Congress. I would be very greatful if anyone knows where to obtain reprints.
"A Brief History of the Family of Beck in Northern Ireland" by J W Beck
"Beck Geneology" by W H Beck
"Beck Family in America"
"A History of the Beck Family Together With a Geneological Record of the Alleynes and Chases From Where They Are Decended.
Hopefully, I will find a link with the DNA. This is quit fun. Based on some writtings from the 1600's,I have traced on my mother's side to the 980's with some confidence. Hope we have a connection. I would love to get this far with the Becks. I a writting a book on the Beck attributes for future Becks before they are completely lost to history.
