I am searching for information about a steamboat accident on the Mississippi in the Natchez area. There were a number of German immigrants on the boat going to Ohio. My Miller family was among the German passengers. When the boat exploded, one of the Miller girls was killed. Some stories in our family tell that a German family took in the Miller's until they were able to continue on their journey to Ohio. The Miller's arrived in New Orleans from LaHarve in March, 1846.
