I am once again posting a plea for primary material related to Captain English's Battery of Artillery, which was organized around a cadre of officers and men from the Natchez Quitman Light Arillery in the spring of 1862 in Natchez and mustered in to Confederate service in August of that year in Fayette. The battery acted largely as a reserve force at Port Hudson, Louisiana, with about 20% of the men serving in area hospitals. After the surrender of Port Hudson, the battery was disbanded, but several of the men served in other commands.
I have the service records of the officers and men from this company, as well as quite abit of biographical information on the 80+ men. What I am looking for is photographs, memiors, journals, letters, etc. I am willing to pay for copies (scans wil do also). I will fully acknowledge any contributions in my published history of th company.
