Do you know anything more about the name Toman. I have an ancestor Joseph Schäfler b abt 1818, Bavaria, Germany who was married to Anna Marie Schmitt and/or Anna Marie Toman b abt 1816 Bavaria, Germany. First name could be Mary.

On Joseph & Anna Marie's son John the mother's name was listed as "Toman" in the St. Wencelaus Church records at New Prague, Minnesota and on son Joseph John's death record at Scott Co., Minnesota "Mary Ann Schmitt". I can not find any other information on the death records, funeral cards or obituaries.

The family does not know where they were from in Bavaria, Germany and where they lived in Pennsylvania, USA. They lived in PA from about 1842-1848. So I am at a dead end. Any help will be appreciated!
