I've been searching for information about my Bohemian great-grandparents and am intrigued by the idea that I may be looking in the wrong place. The name Pliner/Plainer does not seem at all Bohemian. Could it be German? Thomas Plainer b 1857; Anna Vinchattle Plainer b 1861. They married in 1885 in Iowa after having 3 children. Why would they have 3 children before marrying? Did they flee Bohemia? Was she Bohemian and he German and no one wanted them to be together?
If you can give me some hints or help, please contact me. I know little about the German-Bohemians, but am interested in seeing if there might be a connection. Thanks!
