Death of Mrs. Owen Gallagher
Mrs. Owen Gallagher passed away at the family home in this place on Wednesday, May 15th, at 8:45 in the evening. Her illness covered a period of several months but she was enabled to be up and around the home until within about two days before death. The ailment was of a pulmonary type. She approached her end with fortitude and was prepared and willing to go.
The deceased was born in Alton Township September 21st, 1890, and had resided in this vicinity all her life. She was a lady of reserved manners, but possessing qualities that commended her to her friends and that brought her their esteem, admiration and love. She was generous and kind hearted and faithfully and fully exemplified the best traits of womanhood. An adherent of the Catholic faith, she always reflected its teachings and lived and died a christian woman sincerely devoted to her faith.
The deceased is survived by her husband, her father, Mr. A. Davis, three brothers, John and George Davis, of Janesville and Arthur Davis, of Baraboo Wisconsin, and two sisters, Miss Margaret who resides at home and Mrs. Thomas Ryan, of Waldorf.
The funeral was conducted Friday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Ann's Catholic church, Rev. Father Condron, officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the Janesville Catholic Cemetery.
We join many friends in extending sympathy to the bereaved husband, the father and brothers and sisters.
