Update-- today (on film #1194744) I found the death record of the earliest known child of Johann Proechel and Wilhelmine WRUCK-- Friederike Amalie Proechel-- died 26 Jan. 1840 at Samoczyn (=Samotschin, Kolmar Co., Posen), age 7 months (so b ca June 1839 [at Samoczyn?]). Johann's occupation was a "Tuchmacher" (clothmaker). Friederike died of a "Schlagfluss" (apoplectic fit).
Several other Prechel / Proechel families are also listed in the Samotschin records (I was viewing the death index 1831-1854). It tells me likely Johann and Wilhelmine (Wruck) Proechel had their earliest children (after their wedding in 1836 at Samotschin likely (not at Hermannsdorf / Radsitz, as the family says) . So of the ones who survive, the ones born at Samoczyn would have been Ernestine Wilhelmine, b 5 Nov 1841, and Samuel J., b 2 April 1843. The rest were born at Radsitz (=Hermannsdorf), Wirsitz, Posen.
Other Prechels at Samotschin having children about this time were Christoph Proechel and Rosine Tetzlaff, Friedrich Prechel and Caroline Schmidt, and Johann Proechel and Henriette Doms.
I'm going to order a couple Samotschin films to verify the 1836 wedding and births 1836-44 and to find possibly Johann Proechel and Wilhelmine Wruck's birth too (1812 and 1817 respectively). It's still possible, of course, that the older Proechels were all born at the place where many were known to be born, at Podstulitz, Kolmar Co., Posen.
I hope this is of interest to the many Proechel family members.
