Thanks for replying on the Prechel families. August, since you say he was born at Podstulitz in 1823, is very likely related to the Waseca County Prechel / Proechel families. I would be interested in any other names you discovered while reviewing the films you mentioned (Jan Textor sent me Prechels in the oldest of the 3 films-- 1194733). Send to my e-mail address listed below. I will be ordering an older Samoczyn film to see if Johann Samuel Proechel (b 1812) was born there or possibly also born at Podstulitz too (his father was said to be Martin-- I know there was a Martin from Podstulitz).
For Johann Proechel family members, I confirmed Thursday that Johann Samuel Proechel and Johanne Wilhelmine Wruck were married 6 Dec 1838, Samoczyn. Johann was age 25-4 (so b ca Aug 1813) and Wilhelmine 24 (so b ca 1814). This corrects the family's previously known information that the couple was married 1836 at Hermannsdorf (Radsitz), Wirsitz, Posen.
Their first two (probably all 3) children were born at Samoczyn-- 1) Friedericke Amalie, b 21 Sep 1839, d 26 Jan 1840; 2) Ernestine Wilhelmine, b 5 Nov 1840. Likely Samuel, b 1843, was also born at Samoczyn (but my film didn't go that late).
I trust this is of interest to Proechel family members.
