I am looking for information about McDERMEITs in Wadena and Becker counties. Specifically I am interested in the Charley Edward McDERMEIT family. Charley was born 1 April 1879 in Iowa to Thomas McDERMEIT and Clista Ellen CLATTERBUCK. Charley was married to Irene Altha, daughter of Charles H. and Harriet Eliza (COLBURN) NOBLE. Charley died 14 May 1954 in Blueberry Twp, Wadena County and is buried in Wadena Cemetery. Irene Altha died 11 Dec 1956 in Hubbard County.

I noticed that the VFW Post in Menahga is named Guy L. McDermeit Post #6206. Can someone provide information about Guy and his association to the VFW Post?
