Carl Theodore (C.T.) TENGVALL (1868-1933) settled in Swenoda Twp., Swift County in 1892 with his wife Melina ECKLUND (1863-1937). They had six children: Carl E. (1890-1956) of Benson m. Alma SIMENSTAD; Gerda m. William G. SWANSON of Six Mile Grove; Helen (1894-1955) m. Henry LAGRED of Camp Lake; Otto (1895-1967) of Benson m. Minnie Kutches; Arthur (1900-?) of Swenoda; and Clarence (1905-1959) of Swenoda m. Sylvia SWENSON.

C.T. TENGVALL had two brothers, each with a different spelling. John TINGWALL settled at Eagle Bend MN, and Otto TENGWALL settled north of Kerkhoven, Swift Co. They were the sons of Ola Thor JONSSON and Brita Marie Jonasdotter LARSSON of Ostraby, Skona, Sweden.
