Zeman Glenn Louis
Zeman was born on June 28, 1925 at
Hinckley,
Minnesota, the son of Louis and Emma (Gimpl)
Zeman. He was raised and attended school at
Hinckley and graduated from
Hinckley High School. He served his country as a Seaman in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Theodore E. Chandler. On June 22, 1950, he was united in marriage to
Georgia Ausmus at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in
Hinckley.
Glenn managed Lampert's Lumberyard in
Hinckley for over 40 years. He was a member of the
Knights of
Columbus, the VFW and American Legion in
Hinckley, a current member of the
Hinckley Planning Commission, past member of the
Hinckley Village
Council and a very active member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. His hobbies included woodworking and traveling. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Glenn died on Saturday, February 12, 1994 at the
Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis at the age of 68 years.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia; two sons, Don and his wife, Andrea of
Hinckley, and Larry and his wife Carol of
Ramsey, MN; one daughter, Linda and her husband, Dale
Blowers of Hinckley; eight grandchildren, Ben, Breanne, Jackie, Valerie, Steven, Katherine, Adia and Kendra; his mother-in-law, Rose
Ausmus of Hinckley; two brothers-in-law, Les
Ausmus and his wife Lorraine of
Hinckley, and Duane
Ausmus and his wife Bette of Kelliher; a special friend, Maggie
Zeman of Hinckley; also many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A mass of Christian burial for Glenn L. Zeman was held on Tuesday, February 15, 1994 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in
Hinckley, with Fr. James
Scheuer officiating. Soloist was Diane
Ausmus, accompanied by Bev Niedorf. Casketbearers were Don Pulkrabek,
Arnie Gimpl, Roland Gimpl, Dave Gimpl, Gene
Krantz, and
Nick Marudas. Honorary casketbearers were Jim
Pavelka, Joe Kub and Ray
Fuchs. Interment was in the Rosehill Cemetery in
Hinckley with military rites accorded by the
Hinckley Honor Guard. Arrangements with the Tatting - Methven Funeral Home in
Hinckley.
