Clarence E. Teich 78, of
Pine City, died Wednesday June 10, 2009 at the Lakeside Nursing Home in
Pine City.
Clarence
Emil Teich was born on Oct. 9, 1930 on the family farm in Pokegama Township. Clarence was the son of
Emil and Mary (
Vondrasek)
Teich. He was baptized as an infant and confirmed as a youth at the
Zion Lutheran Church in
Pine City. He received h is education in the Country School District #47 one mile south of the family farm.
Clarence was united in marriage to Louise
Schied in New
Ulm.
Clarence, along with his brother
Wally, ran the
Standard Oil station in
Pine City for 10 years. After selling the gas station,
Wally opened Wally’s Tire Shop in
Hutchinson. This is where Clarence worked until he moved to New
Ulm. He then managed the tire shop in New
Ulm. Clarence also lived in
Walker and Little
Falls before returning to his hometown of
Pine City.
Clarence enjoyed socializing with friends and family, listening to polka music, going to farm auctions and learning about the latest styles in cars and trucks (especially red).
When Clarence needed assistance with his daily care, he became a resident of Lakeside Nursing Home in
Pine City in the summer of 2004.
Clarence is survived by his brothers and sisters,
Ernie Teich and his wife Evelyn of
Mesa, AZ,
Ervin Teich of
Pine City, Rose Marie
Merz and her husband Paul of Maple Plain,
Wally Teich of
Hutchinson, Clinton
Teich and his wife
LaVerne of
Pine City and Nina Mattkins of Hutchinson; many nephews and nieces as well as other relatives and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister-sin-law, brother-in-law, great nephew and many friends.
A funeral service was Monday, June 15 at
Zion Lutheran Church in
Pine City. Pastor Glen
Kleppe officiated. Casket bearers were Bryan
Teich, Terry
Teich, Dennis
Teich, Alan
Teich, Roger
Teich and Scott
Teich.
