Dave
Waldow, 61,
Sturgeon Lake, died tragically on Saturday, June 6, 2009, from injuries sustained in a farm accident involving his
Holstein bull.
He was born October 4, 1947, in
Moose Lake to Alvin and Louise
Waldow. He grew up in Windemere Township and at the age of 2 he began a lifelong passion of farming with his father. Dave graduated from
Moos Lake High School and later attended college at the University of
Minnesota Duluth for a short time. He worked construction and also drove truck. Dave started up farming again on the family homestead with beef cattle. He later started dairy farming, which he was currently operating. Dave loved going to town for coffee at Lou’s in
Barnum, deer hunting, dancing, and watching football.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Louise Waldow; brother, John Waldow; nephew, Jason Gerard; and a nice, Julie
Waldow.
Dave will be remembered by his brother, Jerome (Sharon)
Waldow of Alexandria; sister, Jane (Robert)

Willow River; nieces and nephews, Sherri

A gathering of family and friends was from noon on Monday, June 15 until the 1 p.m. service to celebrate Dave’s life in Hope Lutheran Church,
Moose Lake. The Rev. Jan Mehloff officiated. Music was provided by Lee Mogen, Becky
Morgan, and Mary Rose Varao. A private scattering of Dave’s ashes will be held on Dave’s farm.
