I am looking for my Great Grand father. He was married to Ellen Gustaf but she listed herself as divorced after they got to MN. I think I found Richard on a census in Lowville and his last name was listed as Gustafson. My family has been looking for Richard for as long as I can remember. We lost track of him sometime between 1860 and 1890. any leads would be great.

Does anyone remember a cemetery located in Des Moines River Township that was located about a mile east of the N/S Dovary road and a mile north of the E/W road that went to Windom? It was a small cemetery surrounded by a grove of trees on property later owned by Clarence Kirchner (owner on plat map 1961). It disappeared in the late 50's - early 60's. Does anyone know what happened to the graves and headstones?

Info on Jacob Ewy -a Galacian Mennonite

Jacob Ewy died 13 Mar 1889 as recorded at Red River Valley Township, Murray Co, Minnesota books. I sure would love to find out where he was buried or an obituary. His wife was Barbara Albert Ewy from the same area -she was born in Galicia and died 14 Jun 1897 Murray County Minnesota. Barbara is listed on the 1895 Des Moines River Township living with son Chris and Elizabeth Ewy. Jacob and Barbara had many Galacian Mennonite relatives in the area including a son Jacob who died in Murry Co. in 1926. A son who died Watonwan Co. and several children who died at Westbrook, Cottonwood County so I am not sure where to look for the gravestone or obituary of Jacob/Jakob and Barbara Ewy. I have not found anything yet but I keep looking. Thanks for any help. Kathy

I found this at the Elim Lutheran Cemetery by the small town of Scandia, Washington County, Minnesota. Beata is a rare name.

Beata Johnson, born Nov 28 1858, died May 21 1939 spouse Sven

Sven Johnson, born May 03 1842, died Jul 03 1907 spouse Beata

I would check out the Washington County board and see if someone can pull that Beata's obit.
