Can anyone related to the Huchton family tell me where the maiden name of Margaret Huchton came from? They came over on the ship Copernicus in 1842 with the Christian Meierotto, Ernst Rehpohl , Joseph Strothman and Bremhorst families. The ship record gives Margaret's maiden name as Bremhorst not Termeier. I wonder if Termeier was her mothers maiden name and Father was a Bremhorst? There is a Henry Bremhorst buried near her in St. James cemetery I believe to be her younger brother. I found other connections to her and Henry also. Caspar Meierotto's first wife was Elizabeth Rehpohl daughter of Ernst and Franceska Rehpohl. Christian Meierotto's wife Elizabeth was a sister to Mary C. Strothman the wife of Joseph Strothman. The maiden name of the women was Autfanger.

I found your post about research on the Huchton, Bremhorst, Rehpohl and Strothman families. My husband is a Rehpohl - GGrandson of Otto and Anna Maria Rehpohl. They immigrated from "Prussia" in 1865 to NY and eventually to Missouri. I'm trying to find a link to the Ernst and Franceska Rehpohl family who came to the US through New Orleans in 1842; apparently with the other families you mentioned. There are very few Rehpohl people in the US now and as far as I can tell, all from Otto and Anna Maria's families. Do you have any information that could help me? Charlotte Rehpohl, Bellingham, WA.
